Alcohol and drugs
Driving whilst under the influence of alcohol or drugs is extremely dangerous and socially unacceptable, most drivers wouldn't do it knowingly. However, certain prescribed and over-the-counter drugs can significantly impair driving skill. This can include something as innocent as cough medicine.
Most drivers will leave their car at home or get a friend to drive if they know they're going to have a drink in the evening. But would they know how to calculate alcohol units or determine when they're okay to drive?
Depending on the quantity of alcohol consumed, the time taken for the alcohol to leave their system could be many hours and they may not be legally fit to drive well into the following day.
This test is designed to see if you and your drivers know when it's safe to drive after having drunk the night before.
An organisation ought to have a drinking and/drugs and driving policy and incorporate it into their driver's handbook.
